Yeah, that's right, a pink balloon was just stalking me. It was kinda freaky.
To set up the scene: When my grandma and grandpa go out of town I water the garden for them. They are out of town right now, and as such, I went watering today.
I had been to the garden by their house to water the roses, then went to check on the larger garden that's down the hill a little. I remembered I had to water the tomatoes by the house, so I went back to the house to do so. As I got over to the tomatoes, something caught my eye:
A pink balloon was sitting right outside the deer fence.
Now, I might not have mentioned this before, but this is a pretty rural area. My mom's, uncle's and grandparent's property are all next to each other, and make a total of roughly 9 acres. The majority of the area is forest; namely the forest most of my Yoruichi photoshoot took place in. The closest hose to my grandparents is down a hill, across a small field, and behind some trees.
I don't know how a balloon could have made it all the way up to the fence. So, said balloon had just caught my attention when a light breeze came along and started moving it. The balloon hugged the last 30 feet of fence, never floating more than six inches above the ground, before getting caught at the corner by a piece of grass and a plank of wood. I figured it would get dislodged and just go off into the forest, but no:
It freely turned a 90* corner.Bwa?
Mind you, it's on the
outside of the deer fence. By all rights it should have kept going straight. Not this pink wonder. It turns the 90* and keeps hugging the fence. Now instead of just keeping a steady pace, it would get caught on little clumps of grass and hunker down for a while. So while I'm watering, I would turn around to see the balloon in not only a new place down the fence, but always peeking at me from between clumps of grass or from behind a post. This continued for a good 10 minutes down about 100 feet of fence.
I'm watching this thing wondering if it's going to do another two right angles and end up in the garden with me, but before it reached the end of the long side of the fence, it blew away from the fence and over against a wall of blackberries and shrubs. I wish I could say it turned that corner, or was all of a sudden in the garden with me, or had just vanished without popping. I thought fun time with the balloon was over. I was pretty disappointed about that.
So about 8 minutes later, right before I left, the balloon decides not only is it going to get unstuck from the bushes, but float 5 feet up in the air
straight back at me. I glared at it as it rolls over to the bushes again. It was starting to shift around again as I left the garden and I wanted to stay and watch it, but I had to go back up to my house. My mom asked me what I would do if it followed me. Honestly? I don't know. Think it's Magic Adventure time? Freak out at the phenomena? Maul it so it can't follow me anymore?
This all happened about a half an hour ago.
Sweet Baby Jesus, if I look out my window today and there is a pink balloon sitting outside of it,
all bets are off.---------
